The sea is a very powerful thing. The sea’s most subtle motions can have very violent effects on humans. My Uncle Joe took my family on a full day fishing trip. The ocean was making the boat rock so violently that my entire family became ill and threw up. Even my Uncle Joe got sick, and he’s the First Mate of a  real fishing boat. I couldn’t believe how such a simple thing as water could make everyone so sick. This just goes to show that nothing in this world can be taken lightly. That was the first time in my life that I had ever been sea-sick, and I couldn’t believe that the ocean could do this to me. Water is necessary for human survival, yet it can cause some of the worst pain I have ever felt. I’m still in awe of how powerful the sea is. The sea had a greenish tint that day, and the wind was blowing hard. There were birds flying over head; occasionaly, plucking fish out of the water. The water was making the boat sway back and forth, and people were almost falling off of the boat. It wasn’t the best fishing condition, but I did have a good time out on the sea.

If I had the knowledge and ability to invent anything without money as an object, I would invent a super fuel efficient, solar-powered car. I know what you’re thinking. “Well, that’s nothing new. Solar-powered cars have been invented.” Not like this they haven’t. I would find a way to build the solar panels into the body of the car, making it look natural. So instead of having a big steel plate on the top of your car, and looking like an idiot. The solar energy is absorbed through the car body itself. Now keep in mind, it’s not how hot the car gets, it’s how the sun charges the car’s battery. How will the car work when it’s not in direct sunlight, you ask? The car is able to hold a charge of energy to use during  the night and during thunderstorms and other wheather conditions that hide the sun. As with all new technologies you can’t expect it to be pefect on the first run. There needs to be a fail-safe. The car will also have the ability to run on gasoline as any regular car would. So even people who live in little sunlight will be able to drive the car without a worry. You may ask, if it runs on gasoline what makes it so special?  The idea is not to throw out all the past technology used to make a car, it’s to improve uppon it with upgrades to the already well-working system. If we removed the car’s compatibility with gasoline completely we would have hurt our progress in what we have already completed. It may be a re-invention of the car, but it’s not something entirely new. In the end, it’s a car. It may run on a different fuel source, but it must operate like a car. My personal preference for the body style is something like the Mustang GT. Which is why I’m happy to announce our partnership with Ford. I believe when our car releases it will be a prime contender against Chevrolet’s Volt. Aside from the power source, this is  a regular car. It handles like any other Mustang you can buy right now. All the other components of the car needed very little modification to operate properly using solar energy. It looks nice as well. If you like the body style of the GT, you will like this car. We also have future plans to move this technology to other car models. As of now, I am very pleased with how far we have come, and I hope that you will enjoy the product as of its release.

Hmm? What could my favorite movie be? I guess you could say that it’s Rambo. I did like the intensity of Rambo. I also felt that it had a great storyline and was a heartfelt war story.  Even though Rambo was good, I am awaiting the release of the Gears of War movie. That will be an epic war story, worth the time of anyone interested in war. After seeing footage from the game, I am anticipating this movie more than any other. Cliff Bleszinski is working hard with the director and writer to ensure that this movie doesn’t suck. If he succeeds this will be the greatest game-to-movie adaptation ever created. After watching movies like DOOM and Mortal Kombat, my expectation of all game movies is a little low. Even so, this movie should be amazing. It would be very hard for them to screw up Gears of War. It’s only the greatest video game ever created. No pressure guys. The game has an amazing storyline that should lend itself to a film very well. The characters are amazing and they all have emotions and personalities of their own. It would be difficult to cast for the characters though. Who could live up to Marcus Fenix? He’s so much larger than life. The movie would have to have a lot of CG, I wouldn’t mind that though. I love CG animation. Overall my anticipation for this movie is through the roof. I can’t wait for its release.

Thanksgiving is a time where we as Americans can give thanks for all the privileges we have. It’s a time where there is nothing but peace on everyones mind. Everyone’s in a good mood. You wake up and smell all the delicious food. It’s an amazing day. Aside from the physical aspect of it, all the food and fun with your family. It’s a time when we can give thanks to God for all His blessings. This isn’t something that should only be done on Thanksgiving. We should be thankful for everything. For having great friends, a great family and living in freedom. My Thanksgiving was great. The food was just as good as ever. This is the first Thanksgiving that I helped cook for. Okay, I didn’t really cook, but I helped carry food across the kitchen to the table. When we started eating it was just a great time. My Dad prayed for the meal, our family and friends and for the day in general. After eating, I was surprised, I didn’t feel sick at all. I felt full, but not sick. We just stayed inside all day and ate food whenever we felt like it. It was a great day.

As I Lay Dying is a Thrash Metal band from San Diego, California. They mix sounds of Punk, Metal and Hardcore. This creates a sound unlike any other. I can’t get enough of this band. They have released four studio albums and are filming for their first live DVD. The DVD remains untitled and will be released early next year. As I Lay Dying is signed to Metal Blade Records, and plan on staying on their roster for the rest of their career. They have become one of the biggest selling bands on Metal Blade Records. Their albums are titled, in order of release, Frail Words Collapse, Shadows are Security, A long March: The First Recordings and An Ocean Between Us. A Long March: The First Recordings is a re-release of their first studio release on Pluto Records. There is no news on their next album whatsoever. The album will be released when it’s done. I’m a huge fan of this band. I’ve liked their music for three years now, and have never been bored of them. My friend Josh has been quoted, saying that As I Lay Dying is “disgustingly good.” I have to agree. They are the best Metal band I have ever heard. There is some tough competition in the underground Metal scene, and As I Lay Dying has risen to the top. They are the epitome of awesomeness. As I Lay Dying will never be surpassed in talent.

This bitter-sweet life we all lead,

So cruel, yet it remains comforting.

Something about life it’s great, but bad,

Separated from where you want to be.

You feel close to the Father, yet so far away,

Always afraid of messing up.

This is where he placed you, and you know it.

It’s where you’re supposed to be,

Even though you don’t want to be here.

You love it, more than anything, but you find a way to hate it.

You have fun, you cry, you live your life,

Through the good and the bad.

He’s always there to lift you up.

No matter how many times you fall.

You messed up, it happens, yet He still loves you.

There’s something about it that you don’t understand.

How can someone have that much love?

You know that you can never understand it,

Yet you try with all your might.

It’s the love of the Father, and no one can understand it.

This was a decently entertaining movie. It was black and white, and I don’t watch to many black and white movies. So that was a good experience. If you enjoy Washington D.C., government and politics this is your movie. It shows that determination and heart will always triumph over experience.

It tells the story of Jefferson Smith, and his struggle with the senate. I like how they portrayed the senate. These people were so corrupt and greedy that they would rather destroy a mans dreams than loose money. Even Smith’s closest “friend,” Joe Paine decided to betray him. He took advantage of his in-experienced colleauge, and used it to better his own chances of success. Smith was a kind-hearted, innocent man. He wanted to use his power in the senate to build a camp for boys. Allowing them to have somewhere to stay and have fun over the summer. With the help of his secretary Clarissa Saunders, he began writing his bill. While presenting his bill, the senate seemed to agree with his cause until he specified the land that the camp would be built on.

The senate had previous plans for that section of land. They quickly found a way to remove Smith’s power. Joe Paine asked if Smith would give the floor to him. Smith, believing Joe to be his friend, quickly obliged. Joe then proceeded to ask the President of the senate to expell senator Smith. Saying that he had made a mistake by allowing Smith to be a senator.

Smith, feeling betrayed and hopeless, left the senate to cool-off and think things over. His secretary Saunders found him in front of the Lincoln Monument. She encouraged him and gave him hope. On his last day in the senate Smith fought like never before. He took control of the floor and left no room for anything but questions. Smith was determined and nothing was going to stop him. After all the lies that had been said, and all the betrayal that had taken place. Smith was always honest and stuck to his beliefs. He talked for the entire day. He had lost his voice and had no energy left in his body, but something kept him going. The love that he had for those boys. That strengthened him when nothing else could. In the end, Joe couldn’t take it anymore. He had had enough. He told the senate the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Smith had won. His camp would be built, and the senators put to justice.

As we arrived in Washington; I thought it would be impossible to choose only one monument to blog about. There are so many great things in Washington D.C. The Capitol, the memorials and all the unbelievable monuments. Everything was amazing, and everything deserved respect. This was our nations capitol. A place I never thought I would get to visit. I was in awe of everything. it was like nothing I had ever seen. It was difficult to pick the monument or memorial that touched me the most. I would say it was definitely the World War II memorial.

Something about it was sovereign and honorable. Seeing all the quotes from the war generals and of important people in our history was awe-inspiring. It made me think of them as more than just men. They sacrificed their lives so that I could live like I am living today. As touching as that was, seeing the stars that lined the wall representing the soldiers themselves, that touched my heart. I have respect for every man that gave their life so that I might live. They are true soldiers. They deserve all the honor that has been given to them. I can’t imagine what it was like for their families to receive the message that their loved ones had died. There must have been a feeling of great sorrow, without a doubt they were sad, but I’m sure there was also a feeling of great honor. Their loved one had sacrificed their life for something greater than themselves.

The memorial itself was a great sight. There were fountains in the center and pillars from different states circling the perimeter. I can’t stress this enough, it was completely awe-inspiring. It was difficult to pick only one thing to write about. Everything there was amazing. I was contemplating the Arlington Cemetary, that is an awe-inspriring sight. As well as, the Lincoln Monument, but neither of them touched me as much as the World War II memorial. It was something I will never forget. I will always have respect for any man willing to give his life for his country.

The Nazis have always been a group of people that I liked to learn about. I didn’t admire them for what they did, but I took interest in it. I liked World War II in general and Nazis were, of course, a big part of the war. Last year, in history class, I couldn’t believe some of the stuff that the Nazis did. They were so cruel and vile, but they thought they were doing a great work in the world. By eliminating all pests from the earth. The “pests,” as they called them, were the Jews. They had no respect for the Jews. Adolf Hitler was quoted saying that the Jews were most definitely a race, but were not human. This shows how badly the Nazis hated the Jews, and foretold of the extreme ways that they would eliminate them.

I don’t really have a “favorite” snack, but you could say that Pringles are one of my favorite snacks. I don’t know what it is, the texture, the taste or the shape, but something about Pringles is just different. They seperate themselves from other potato chips; they’re just great, plain and simple. My favorite flavor would have to be pickle. I know what you’re thinking. “Pickle, what?” I like pickle flavored stuff, mainly chips, and Pringles are the best pickle flavored chips I have ever had. Of course, you can’t go wrong with original; salt just tastes good. Pringles “Cheezums” are also great, they taste like really salty cheese, so if you like salt you’ll like “Cheezums.” I just noticed something, that’s one of Pringles strong points, or weak points(depending on who you talk to) most of their products taste like salt. Luckily, as you can tell, I like salt, as long as it’s not overpowering. Plus, the mustache of the Pringles guy is awesome.
